Grants are a vital component of a solid school library. Grants enable programs, resources and learning experiences to create opportunities for the students. Donors Choose has funded an iPod touch for podcasts and early readers, digital flip camcords for making and editing movies, earphones and mics for creating MP3 file book talks and several Chromebooks necessary for building technology in the library. Kids in Need Foundation’s grant has enabled a group of students to study food, culture and customs of different countries. Lowe’s has funded the library to buy leveled Fountas and Pinnell books to target at risk readers in a one to one tutoring program. Target has provided funds as well for a group of students to go to see a Broadway play. LAst but not least, NYC Fund for the Public Schools is funding desktops and iPads for the library.
