Congratulations to Juan Rosario, 5th grade, and Gjonzef Pllumaj, 4th grade for winning 1st and 3rd place respectively in the annual city wide Jewish Heritage NY writing contest. The contest was established in memory of Toby Nussbaum, a NYC activist and philanthropist. In the library, the boys researched and wrote about achdut, a Hebrew term that means unity and harmony. They went down to the award ceremony at city hall to get their certificates, checks and meet Dennis Walcott, school chancellor.
