October 23, 2015 at 8:30AM I was so fortunate to be able to present at the New York Library Association Conference at Lake Placid. Approximately 25 librarians gathered to explore, engage and experience One Note as a digital portfolio creator. We discussed the work ribbon features that are common in Word and Excel and how easy OneNote is to use. School Library Media Specialists were able to learn more about audio recording and screen clipping being inserted directly into the OneNote notebooks, as well as see firsthand the class notebook creation application. We discussed professional portfolios being for various purposes and student portfolios as reflective pieces. Especially relevant and praised was the fact OneNote class notebooks can conserve on paper and provide greater technology fluency and access. Participants were able to collaborate and work on components for an advocacy portfolios. Thank you Microsoft for promoting professional development and for giving school library media specialists access and knowledge!!!!!
